He later talks about how the feel good politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept sets them up for failure in the real world.
Rule 1. Life is not fair. Get use to it.

They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you try to save the rain forest from the parasites of you'r parents generation. Try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8. Your school may have done away with the winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This does not bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9. Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are intrested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that in your own time...
Rule 10. Television is NOT real life. in real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11. Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Don't watch the clock, do what it does, keep going

why people fail.
1. They procrastinate.

One night i found myself needing rollie papers, i had a pouch but was without a paper, so me and a friend stopped into the local 711, as i went to buy the papers the man behind the counter asked me for id, now i did not have it on me so i pleaded with him just to let me buy them, an in doing so i pulled out my pouch and said "see man im old enough to buy a smokes" he gave in and started to grab the papers and while doing that he said "you should quit you know" i said "yeah man i am, today i only had 5 smokes and the past 3 day prior i had cut down to one its just today i slipped up" and basically his response back to me was, you either quit or you dont, you can't be in between. And in hearing someone say that to me really staight out, it changed my thinking, and now i have been 4 weeks without one, pretty good if you ask me, if i can, you can

most people order what they want in another person, as if they are picking from a fast food menu display. And when it comes time to pay for your order, most do not have what it costs, (the cost being what you have to give or have, to receive your food or dream girl or guy)

There is no "Team" in "You". So when something comes up that requires you, it needs you, no one else, you. Put in YOUR best work YOU can

Don't go where the path already leads, go where one is not and leave a trail

In order to be successful you must be willing to do the things today others won't do, in order to have the things tomorrow others will not have

When you no longer fear dying what else can life threaten you with? what else?.
